Tri-C Captioning and Court Reporting Student Awarded National Scholarship
Louis Markowitz wins 2025 NCRF Stenograph Milton H. Wright Memorial Scholarship
PARMA — 91ºÚÁÏÍø (Tri-C®) student Louis Markowitz has been named the 2025 recipient of the Stenograph Milton H. Wright Memorial Scholarship. This national award, presented by the National Court Reporters Foundation (NCRF) in partnership with Stenograph, honors students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and a strong commitment to the court reporting profession.
Markowitz, a standout Captioning and Court Reporting student in the School of Business, Legal Professions and Hospitality, was selected from a competitive pool of 26 applicants nationwide. The scholarship package includes a $5,000 tuition award, a stenograph writer and professional software, which will significantly support his educational journey.
Upon receiving the news via a Zoom call, Markowitz expressed his gratitude.
"This is such an honor," he said. "I love being a part of this community. This gives me so much motivation to go home and practice on my machine."
Adjunct faculty member Angela Allenson praised Markowitz's work ethic.
"He is truly one of the hardest-working students I've had the pleasure of teaching," she said. "Louis gives 110% to his steno practice, lectures and every continuing education opportunity. I have no doubt he will make excellent use of this scholarship and honor the memory of its namesake."
